Maui 2011
Tuesday, May 31, 2011
We booked Maui this year as a last minute vacation. We managed a great rate that included airfare and seven nights at the Ritz Carton.
I would buy Maui Revealed for good hikes and drives. They also have an iphone ap. :)
1st Restaurants:
Sansei:
We went to this place 2x because the food was so good:
SANSEI Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar - Dinner Nightly 5:30 to 10:00 P.M.
There are 2 locations. The secret is to call when you arrive and find out about their happy hour. Both times we went were 50% off food and alcohol. Totally worth it. I had butter fish- amazing and a ramen with King Crab. Not to mention the great Mai Tai's
Aloha Mixed Plate:
1285 Front Street
Lahaina, HI 96761
(808)661-3322
This is a local Maui hang out with Hawaiian and Filipino food. It is right on the water just outside of Lahaina. It is VERY casual paper plates and all. The food is average, However they have a GREAT happy hour with 3.50 Mai Tais and Pina Coladas, beer etc... Notice a trend yet?
The Gazebo:
You must go here for breakfast. I got the breakfast fried rice and Steph got the Macadamian Nut French toast >>> OMG both great. Get a half order of the fried rice (it is HUGE) The line is very long so get there early.
Sea House Restaurant on Napali Bay:
| Beachfront Dining on Beautiful Napili Bay at the Napili Kai Beach Resort on Maui
Has a great happy hour with 5-10$ Pupus a on a nice patio with a great View.- I would eat Breakfast at the Gazebo. Hang out and snorkel on the beach right below it for the day then wander to happy hour and treats at Sea Houre. A perfect day. :)
For things to do:
I would DEFINITELY rent paddle Boards. We also went on a sunset sail on The Scotch Mist Maui Sailing Charters | Whale Watching | Snorkeling | Sunset Cruise | Maui, Hawaii. We drove up to the volcano and looked around. Walked and hikes a ton. And visited many happy hours. :) We stayed up at the Ritz Carlton because we got an amazing deal 2500$ for 7 nights for 2 people including airfare. AMAZING. Tim stays at the Grand Wailea or the Marriott. We checked them out and they are both beautiful. We wanted a place with a fridge and small kitchenette.
