Santorini is one of the islands that you can fly directly into. I was able to fly from Lax through Munich and land on the island. We decided to add it to our trip to Italy since it was our anniversary and we eloped there 14 years ago. Crazy right? Btw. It’s worth the 25 euro for 2 people or 20 euro for individuals for the hotel to arrange a driver to pick you up at the airport. They help carry luggage if you need it. And they can get you down the crazy crooked walk streets to help you find your hotel. Trust me after a long international flight it is worth it.

Steph beat me there and checked into our lovely hotel right on the caldera (volcanic rim) Nefeli Homes. We decided to stay in a town called Imerovigli. It’s out of the crazy crowds of both Fira and Oia but has great bars and restaurants within an easy walk.
